The Lagos State Police Command has officially unveiled a newly built ultra-modern conference facility named the “I-G Kayode Egbetokun Conference Hall” during a ceremony attended by senior officers and stakeholders in Ikeja.
The command described the facility as a reflection of institutional growth, modern policing standards and improved administrative capacity within the Nigeria Police Force.
The project, located at the command headquarters in Ikeja, was inaugurated by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, Olohundare Jimoh, who initiated the construction during his tenure as Commissioner of Police in Lagos State before its completion after his promotion.
Speaking at the ceremony, Jimoh said the facility goes beyond physical infrastructure, describing it as a representation of progress, reform and strengthened operational efficiency within the force.
He explained that the conference hall stands as a symbol of leadership-driven reforms and commitment to improving policing standards.
“This occasion is not only about commissioning a structure, but about celebrating visionary leadership, institutional development and reforms that will endure over time,” he said.
Jimoh noted that the facility would serve multiple strategic purposes, including operational planning, intelligence coordination, training sessions, policy discussions, press briefings and inter-agency collaboration aimed at improving security delivery.
He also commended the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for his leadership style, technological reforms and efforts toward modernising policing operations across the country.

In his remarks, the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Fatai Tijani, described the project as a significant milestone for the command, adding that it would strengthen operational efficiency and improve welfare and coordination among officers.
He recalled that the foundation for the project was laid on November 7, 2025, by Egbetokun during his tenure as Inspector-General of Police.
Tijani said the completion of the facility demonstrated the command’s commitment to providing a more conducive working environment for officers and enhancing service delivery to the public.
Represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Adesina Lawal, he urged personnel to ensure proper maintenance of the facility so it continues to serve its intended purpose effectively.
He further praised Egbetokun for his continued support for infrastructural development and reforms within the police structure nationwide.
Egbetokun, speaking at the event, expressed satisfaction at returning to commission a project he initiated, describing it as a symbol of continuity, leadership and institutional legacy.
He also commended Jimoh for his leadership qualities and professionalism, recalling his years of service within the Lagos Police Command.
The former police chief encouraged officers to remain disciplined, patient and committed to duty, noting that professionalism and integrity remain key to career growth and national service.
He added that the new facility should serve as a platform for strategic thinking, collaboration and innovative ideas aimed at improving security operations in the country.
The event was attended by retired senior police officers and representatives of sister security agencies, who delivered goodwill messages in support of the initiative.
