The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has provided four dedicated telephone numbers for residents to report cases of uncleared refuse across the FCT for immediate action.
Mr Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communications and Social Media, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja.
He identified the contact numbers as 08038643087, 07011073406, 07011255710 and 09114843425.
Olayinka urged residents to send photographs and videos of uncleared refuse to the numbers via WhatsApp, stressing the importance of including accurate location details.
“Tell us where there is uncleared refuse. Take pictures, record videos and send them with the location clearly stated.
“The location will help identify the waste management contractors responsible for the area,” he said.
He explained that the initiative was aimed at tackling the growing waste management challenge in the FCT by ensuring contractors carry out their duties promptly.
According to him, the measure is part of efforts by the FCTA to improve sanitation and keep Abuja clean and healthy for residents.
