ADC Shifts Presidential Primary Results Collation Exercise

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has suspended the collation of results from its presidential primary election.

The Chairman of the Presidential Primary Election Committee, Chief Ikechi Emenike, announced the development late on Tuesday, explaining that the decision was taken to accommodate Muslim party members observing the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

He added that the collation exercise would resume at 8 p.m. on the same day, noting that some returning officers were also delayed due to flight challenges into Abuja.

According to him, the pause was necessary to allow members of the party to observe the Sallah festivities while ensuring that all officials required for the process were present for the continuation of the exercise.

He stated that results from 24 states and the Federal Capital Territory had already been announced before the suspension, with 12 states still outstanding.

The results earlier declared covered states including Borno, Kebbi, Anambra, Abia, Ekiti, Ondo, Gombe, Oyo, Imo, Yobe, Nasarawa, Enugu, Benue, Osun, Adamawa, and Kogi.

Others were Kano, Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi, Niger, Plateau, Sokoto, Taraba, Zamfara, and the FCT.
