Week 2 explodes with 24 goals in Nathaniel Idowu U-14 League

The Nathaniel Idowu-Ajegunle U-14 Football League continued to captivate fans in its second week, delivering a goal-packed round that saw 24 goals scored—an improvement on the opening week’s tally.

The grassroots competition is staged at the Nathaniel Idowu pitch in Ajegunle, within Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Council of Lagos State, and has quickly become a hub for emerging football talent.

Organisers noted that the league is gaining momentum as a showcase for youthful attacking play and competitive spirit among young footballers.

The tournament is organised by the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Sports Council, with support from the Nathaniel Idowu Foundation, as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots football development in the area.

Pure Talents FA maintained their fine form with an emphatic 6–2 victory over Young 11 FA, as Fidelis Prosper, Chukwu Gozie, Ajaloleru Yesiru and Adekunle Daniel found the back of the net.

Joseph Philip and Theodore Triumph scored the consolation goals for Young 11 FA, but their efforts were not enough to prevent defeat.

Michael May FA recorded a comfortable 2–0 win against Best of Best International, thanks to goals from Gavor Marvelous and Akinbowale Winner.

Bright Future FA and Divinely Blessed FA shared the spoils in a 1–1 draw, while Fortune FA produced a commanding display to defeat Strong Dove FA 6–2.

Sharp Talent FA also impressed with a 3–0 triumph over Ajegunle United SC, with Divine Nwayawo, Sulaiman Ibrahim and Shogbamu Emmanuel on the scoresheet.

Coal City FA rounded off the fixtures with a hard-fought 2–1 victory against Moore Wins FA.

The league has continued to attract community support, with Joy Ekwem pledging to supply water for all participating teams throughout the competition.

In addition, Kevin Osaze, Chief Executive Officer of Kevin Osaze Transport Services, donated ₦200,000 to the organisers and provided ₦50,000 educational support for Bright Future FA’s youngest player, Surajudeen Mujeeb.

Players who earned Man-of-the-Match honours were also rewarded with T-shirts donated by Lagos State FA Vice Chairman, Adedotun Coker, who said the initiative was aimed at motivating young players and promoting excellence in grassroots football.
