Abuja, May 31, 2026 A tragic road accident in the Central Business District of Abuja has claimed the lives of four persons, comprising three males and one female.
The crash occurred on Saturday evening at about 6:00 p.m., resulting in heavy traffic congestion in the area as emergency responders and passersby rushed to the scene.
An eyewitness, who requested anonymity, said the victims were reportedly returning from Sallah celebrations when the incident happened.
Personnel from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), led by the Rescue Team Commander of the City Gate Unit, Stanley Gonji, were deployed to the scene and successfully evacuated the victims.
The bodies of the deceased were later taken to the National Hospital, Abuja.
Efforts were ongoing to obtain an official statement from the FRSC at the time of filing this report.
