Tiwa Savage makes comeback with new album This One Is Personal

Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage, widely celebrated as the Queen of Afrobeats, has released her long-awaited fourth studio album, This One Is Personal. The body of work dives into themes of love, heartbreak, resilience, and self-discovery, all wrapped in captivating sounds.

The project features standout tracks such as I’m Done, Angel Dust, You4Me, On the Low (featuring Skepta), Holding It Down, 10%, Twisted, Scared of Love, Pray No More, Addicted (with Taves), This One Is Personal (Interlude), Will I Run Again?, For One Night, You’re Not the First, and Change featuring James Fauntleroy.

Staying true to its title, the 14-track album includes just three guest appearances—Skepta, Taves, and James Fauntleroy—selected for how well they align with Tiwa’s intimate artistic vision without overshadowing her narrative.

In a post on her official X (formerly Twitter) account, Tiwa revealed that the project was recorded across multiple international studios, spanning Nashville, London, San Francisco, and Lagos.

Explaining why the album is deeply personal, she said:

“This project is so close to my heart, and I poured every part of myself into it. I hope you receive it with the same love I created it with. Please cherish it—because this one is truly personal. Every song tells my story, which is why I kept the features minimal.”

During a fan Q&A session on X, the award-winning singer further clarified that her choice of collaborators was intentional:

“It wasn’t about numbers but about connection. The artists I worked with understood the vision and contributed without taking away from its intimacy.”

This One Is Personal marks Tiwa’s first full-length studio release since 2020. She noted that the project reflects her journey over the past five years—balancing career shifts, motherhood, and personal growth—making the album not just music but a mirror of her life’s evolution.
