Tinubu Meets APC National Caucus Ahead of NEC Session

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday night convened a meeting of the National Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the State House, Abuja, ahead of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for Friday.

The strategic meeting was attended by key party leaders, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio. Also present were serving and former governors, National Assembly leaders, and senior party stakeholders drawn from across the country’s geopolitical zones.

The APC National Caucus comprises top-ranking party figures, including the President and Vice President, former APC-affiliated presidents and vice presidents, sitting and former governors, as well as zonal representatives.

By convention, the caucus meets ahead of the NEC, which is the party’s highest statutory decision-making body. NEC members include the National Chairman, Deputy National Chairmen (North and South), National Secretary, Deputy National Secretary, National Legal Adviser, Deputy National Legal Adviser, and other national officers.

The caucus meeting was aimed at reinforcing party cohesion, strengthening internal discipline, and harmonising positions ahead of the NEC meeting. Participants were also expected to deliberate on organisational priorities, state-level coordination, and stakeholder alignment across the federation.
