Suspected Cultist Arrested as Police Recover Ammunition in Delta State

Warri, Delta State, April 13, 2026 Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a 32-year-old man suspected of involvement in cult activities and recovered ammunition and other items from him.

This was disclosed on Monday in Warri by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, while briefing journalists.

He said the suspect was intercepted on Saturday by operatives of the Delta Shield unit during a surveillance patrol in Orerokpe community, Okpe Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, the arrest followed an intelligence-led operation in the area.

A search conducted on the suspect reportedly led to the recovery of a locally made double-barrel cut-to-size pistol, two live cartridges, one expended cartridge, and a sachet of suspected Tramadol.

Edafe stated that during preliminary interrogation, the suspect allegedly admitted to being a leader of the Juris Confraternity.

He added that the suspect is currently in police custody while investigations are ongoing to uncover further details and possible accomplices.

The command assured that efforts are ongoing to curb cult-related activities and enhance security across the state.
