A delegation of Renewed Hope Ambassadors, working alongside the Presidential Media Team, is set to commence a five-day inspection tour of major federal projects across the South-East beginning on Saturday.
The exercise will take participants through several states in the region, starting in Ebonyi State and ending in Imo State on June 17.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja by Tunde Rahman, Director of Media and Publicity for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.
Rahman explained that the programme will involve more than 50 editors and journalists drawn from different parts of the country, providing them with the opportunity to assess projects and initiatives being implemented under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
According to him, activities lined up for the tour include visits to project sites, meetings with stakeholders, media briefings and discussions centred on national growth and development.
The inspection team is expected to visit Ebonyi, Enugu, Anambra, Abia and Imo states during the exercise.
Rahman noted that the initiative is designed to encourage accurate reporting, deepen engagement between government and the media, and offer citizens a clearer understanding of ongoing development efforts.
He recalled that a similar tour was previously conducted in the North-West, involving over 70 media executives and government representatives.
Among the projects examined during that exercise were the Kaduna-Kano-Katsina-Maradi rail line, sections of the Sokoto-Badagry Highway in Kebbi State, the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway, the Kaduna Western Bypass, irrigation schemes in Jigawa State and ecological intervention projects in parts of Kano State.
The South-East tour is expected to provide participants with firsthand insight into ongoing infrastructure and development projects while promoting greater public awareness of government programmes across the region.
