PDP Conducts Peaceful, Credible Ward Congresses Across Adamawa – Official

Mr. Gebon Kataps, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ward Congress Committee in Adamawa, has described the party’s ward congresses across the state as peaceful, transparent, and orderly.

Kataps, who is also the Secretary to the Taraba State Government, made the remark on Saturday in Girei Local Government Area while leading his team to monitor the exercise.

He expressed satisfaction with the process, noting that the congresses held in all 226 wards of the state recorded impressive turnout and unity among members.

“So far, so good. This is the third local government we are visiting, and we are impressed with the large turnout of delegates, whether to cast their votes or affirm consensus candidates,” Kataps said.

He explained that delegates voted where multiple aspirants were in contention, while in areas with consensus arrangements, they affirmed the agreed candidates.

Kataps also commended the role of women in the exercise, describing their orderly conduct and active participation as commendable.

“The turnout of women in several polling units was impressive. They came out early, stayed in line patiently, and maintained order even when the men moved around,” he added.

Earlier, Alhaji Hamza Madagali, the PDP Organising Secretary in Adamawa, said the party had made adequate preparations to ensure a smooth and credible exercise at the grassroots level.

He urged members to remain peaceful and orderly throughout the ward congresses and in the forthcoming local government and state congresses.
