Dame Julie Okah-Donli has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, describing it as a devastating loss for both the state and the nation.
In a condolence message on Monday, Okah-Donli extended solidarity to the people and government of Bayelsa during the period of grief.
“On behalf of the Okah-Donli family, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the late Deputy Governor, the Government of Bayelsa State, and all Bayelsans mourning this painful loss,” she said.
Okah-Donli remembered Ewhrudjakpo as a calm, dignified, and committed leader whose contributions to governance and public service will remain indelible.
“He was more than a public office holder. He was a steady hand in leadership, a voice of reason in moments of challenge, and a patriot deeply committed to the unity and progress of his people,” she added.
She described the deputy governor’s passing as a major setback for both Bayelsa and Nigeria’s democratic process, praying for divine comfort and strength for all affected.
