NWPL: FC Robo Queens Extend Winning Streak With 2–0 Victory Over Delta Queens

FC Robo Queens of Lagos continued their impressive start to the 2025/2026 Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) season with a 2–0 win over Delta Queens on Matchday 3.

Eight fixtures were decided across the country, with FC Robo maintaining top spot in Group B with nine points. Goals from Rodiat Yusuf and Tosin Rafiu secured the victory for the Ikeja-based side, who remain unbeaten this season.

In Umuahia, Ahudiyannem Queens FC fell 0–2 at home to Nasarawa Amazons of Lafia. Ohunene Sunday opened scoring for the visitors just two minutes into the second half before Peaceful Ikeduba sealed the win with a 74th-minute effort. Nasarawa now have seven points, while the hosts remain on one point after three matches in Group B.

In Ado-Ekiti, Atume Doosuur’s 67th-minute strike handed Edo Queens a narrow 1–0 win over hosts Ekiti Queens. The victory gives Edo Queens six points from two wins, while Ekiti Queens stay on one point in Group A.

Over in Aba, Abia Angels claimed their first win of the season with a 2–0 triumph over Osun Babes. Winner David put the hosts ahead in the 15th minute before Blessing Okon doubled the lead 14 minutes later. Abia Angels now have four points from three matches, while Osun Babes remain on three points after suffering back-to-back defeats.

Seven-time champions Rivers Angels earned a crucial away victory at the Lekan Salami Stadium, defeating Pacesetters 2–1. Grace Saliu opened scoring within two minutes, but Teslimo Balogun equalised for the hosts in the 28th minute. Ramotalahi Kareem restored Rivers Angels’ lead five minutes before halftime, which proved enough to secure all three points. Pacesetters sit bottom of Group A with no point from three games.

At the Iyamho Stadium in Edo State, Confluence Queens suffered a 0–2 home loss to Remo Stars Ladies. Khadijat Anifowoshe put the visitors ahead in the 12th minute, while Similoluwa Okesiji sealed the result with a 90th-minute strike. Remo Stars now have seven points in Group B, while Confluence Queens remain on one point.

In Yola, a 16th-minute goal from Ifeoma Damina handed Adamawa Queens a 1–0 win over Ibom Angels. Adamawa top Group A with seven points, while Ibom Angels sit on four points from a win, draw, and loss.

Meanwhile, the match between Naija Ratels of the FCT and Bayelsa Queens has been rescheduled to Thursday due to “administrative reasons,” according to the NWPL.

A total of 19 teams, split into two groups, are participating in the 2025/2026 NWPL season.
