The newly appointed Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State, Abbas Nda-Mohammed, has pledged to deploy intelligence-driven strategies to enhance the protection of lives and property across the state.
Nda-Mohammed took over leadership of the command following the redeployment of the former commandant, Bala Bodinga, to the NSCDC national headquarters in Abuja.
In a statement released in Ilorin by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Shola Ayoola, the new commandant reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to safeguarding residents, securing critical infrastructure, and protecting national assets within Kwara.
He issued a stern warning to criminals, vandals, and economic saboteurs, urging them to stay away from the state. According to him, the command is prepared to implement firm and proactive measures to tackle all forms of criminal activity.
“Kwara will not serve as a refuge for criminal elements. We are fully equipped and ready to apply effective operational strategies to guarantee the safety of residents and their property,” Nda-Mohammed stated.
He also emphasized the importance of collaboration, noting that the command would work closely with other security agencies, traditional rulers, and key stakeholders to maintain peace and stability in the state.
The commandant called on residents to remain alert and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and reliable information that could aid in crime prevention.
Before his current posting, Nda-Mohammed served at the Zone 4 Headquarters in Minna. With over 20 years of experience in the NSCDC, he has held several strategic roles, including Head of Operations in Kwara, Head of the Anti-Vandal Unit in Niger State, and Area Commander in Kainji.
His career also includes positions such as Divisional Officer in Edati Local Government Area, Head of the Counter-Terrorism Unit in Zamfara, and various leadership roles within the Federal Capital Territory command.
