NFSS Kano Command Receives 96 Complaints in February

The Nigeria Forest Security Service (NFSS), Kano State Command, says it received 96 complaints in February.

The State Commander, Abdullahi Al’ameen, made this known in a statement signed by the service’s Public Relations Officer, Usman Umar, on Monday in Kano.

Al’ameen said most of the cases reported involved animal theft, bush burning, cattle rustling, deforestation, tricycle theft, house and shop breaking, stolen food items, thuggery and robbery, among others.

He said that out of the 96 complaints received, 11 had been treated while 85 were still pending.

Al’ameen further said that some of the cases had been transferred to various security agencies for further investigation.

He added that the main activities of the service include the prevention and detection of crimes and other illegal activities perpetrated in forests.

“We will continue to partner with relevant stakeholders on community policing.

“Our personnel will be trained to gather relevant information on armed robbers, thieves, among others,” he said.

The commander also said that the NFSS would continue efforts to secure forests and ensure they remain crime-free zones.
