Entertainment, Security Stakeholders Hold Meeting on Tackling Insecurity

Stakeholders from Nigeria’s creative and security sectors are set to meet at a high-level roundtable aimed at developing new strategies to address the country’s security challenges.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Entertainment and Economic Roundtable, Chuks Akamadu, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja.

He explained that the initiative will also focus on leveraging the creative, tourism, and cultural sectors to drive economic diversification as a means of strengthening national stability.

The 3rd edition of the roundtable is scheduled to hold in Abuja on April 14, 2026.

Akamadu noted that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, alongside ministers and other senior government officials, will play key roles at the event.

He said the theme, “Harnessing Tourism, Culture and Creative Industries for Rapid Economic Diversification and National Security,” reflects the growing importance of the sectors in national development.

According to him, the creative economy has become central to job creation, inclusive growth, and long-term peacebuilding efforts.

He added that the participation of top government officials, including the Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa, underscores the link between security management and cultural development.

The event is expected to bring together policymakers, industry leaders, development partners, investors, diplomats, and stakeholders across tourism, culture, and the creative economy.

Discussions will focus on how cultural expression, youth engagement, and tourism development can contribute to social cohesion and improved security outcomes.

The Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, is also expected to serve as the official host.

A key highlight of the roundtable will be the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Bureau of Statistics to enhance data collection on the contribution of tourism and creative industries to Nigeria’s economy.
