Ndigbo Development Takes Centre Stage as Ohanaeze Unveils Report

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has taken delivery of the Igbo Charter of Strategic Engagement for National Development, a document aimed at strengthening the role of Ndigbo in Nigeria’s national growth and development.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued in Enugu by the National Publicity Secretary of the organisation, Ezechi Chukwu.

According to Chukwu, the report was produced by a committee headed by former presidential candidate and economist, Kingsley Moghalu.

He stated that other members of the committee present during the submission included the committee’s first deputy chairman, Igwe Lawrence Agubuzo, and its secretary, Chief Enyinnaya Onokala.

The document was officially presented to the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Azuta Mbata, alongside members of the organisation’s Global Executive Council during a formal session held at the National Secretariat in Enugu.

Speaking while presenting the report, Moghalu appreciated the leadership of Ohanaeze for entrusting the committee with the assignment, describing the task as historic and significant to the aspirations of the Igbo people within the Nigerian federation.

He explained that the report also featured a special publication titled “Igbo Builders,” which highlights the achievements and contributions of 125 late Igbo personalities whose impact helped shape both Ndigbo and Nigeria in various sectors.

Moghalu further praised members of the committee for their commitment and hard work throughout the process.

Chukwu also quoted Mbata as applauding the committee for what he described as a patriotic, visionary and commendable effort.

The Ohanaeze President-General assured members of the committee that the recommendations contained in the report would be carefully reviewed and utilised in promoting the interests, unity and development of Ndigbo within the broader Nigerian society.
