NBTI to Showcase 105 Nigerian Innovations in London

The National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) has announced that Nigeria will present 105 groundbreaking innovations in London this October, aimed at attracting foreign investment and delivering solutions to global challenges.

The Director-General of NBTI, Dr. Kazeem Raji, disclosed this during a press briefing on the Grand Finale of the NextGen Innovation Challenge 2025 held in Abuja on Thursday.

According to him, on October 9, at the Hilton London Paddington, 105 top innovators—selected from over 3,000 entries—will pitch their solutions in sectors including HealthTech, AgriTech, FinTech, Clean Energy, and Artificial Intelligence before international investors, policymakers, and development partners.

Raji highlighted some of the innovations to be showcased: a smart wearable bra (Bra-X) for early breast cancer detection, a ventilator capable of serving six patients simultaneously, AI-powered drones for precision agriculture, affordable clean energy systems for underserved communities, and inclusive FinTech applications.

He explained that London was chosen as the host city because of its global standing as a hub for capital and innovation, offering Nigerian innovators opportunities to connect with venture capitalists, diaspora investors, European industry leaders, and development partners.

Key features of the Grand Finale include:

  • Innovation Pitches from 105 innovators with scalable solutions.
  • Consortium Project Showcase, featuring initiatives like Interface Africa, Ogoni Land Renewal, and the $1 billion Innovate Africa Israel/BIPVco Solar Project.
  • Launch of Lagos Coastal Areas as the “World’s Safest Innovation & Leisure Destination.”
  • Global Spotlights with organisations such as SpinLab (Germany), Innovate UK, Zumah FinTech, and the Commonwealth Roundtable.

The event will also feature prominent speakers, including Nigeria’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Mr. Uche Nnaji; Tesla Group Europe CEO, Dr. Shambhu Pokharel; and Mr. Victor Kitange, Economic Adviser to the Commonwealth Group.

Dr. Raji expressed appreciation to stakeholders, including Allen Onyema of Air Peace, Nigerian state governors, the National Assembly, UKALD, and the innovators for their support. He also announced the launch of the NBTI Global App, designed to connect Nigerian innovation with diaspora markets, global investors, and African entrepreneurs worldwide.

“Nigeria has arrived—not as a consumer of technology, but as a global leader in innovation,” Raji said. “We are not exporting talents; we are amplifying African solutions to the world. The NextGen Innovation Challenge represents Nigeria’s innovation renaissance, and we will not stop until our youth have a seat at every global innovation table.”
