Mrs Ifeyinwa Omowole, Acting Head of Lagos Operations, has praised staff members for their dedication and collective effort, which she said contributed to a productive 2025.
Omowole made the remarks on Monday during an enlarged meeting with personnel of the Lagos office.
In her address, she explained that the gathering was organized to review activities carried out in 2025 and to consider suggestions geared towards improving performance in the months ahead.
She encouraged staff to maintain the existing spirit of teamwork, commending their commitment and attributing the year’s successes to divine guidance and protection, despite the challenges encountered.
Omowole also expressed appreciation to both editorial staff and support departments for their hard work, remarking that sustained effort often comes with increased responsibility.
While drawing attention to some challenges observed during the year, the acting head assured staff that such issues would be forwarded to management for possible long-term solutions.
In his remarks, Mr Kevin Okunzuwa, Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Acting Head of Editorial Operations, applauded editorial staff for improved collaboration and better-quality stories.
However, he raised concerns about what he described as a lack of commitment by some reporters, stressing that higher levels of dedication would be required in the new year.
He urged reporters and editors to focus on producing more impactful and well-researched stories, warning that indifferent attitudes to work would not be acceptable.
The session concluded with prayers for continued guidance, protection and success in the year ahead.
