NAF Route March Strengthens Teamwork and Operational Readiness – AOC

Kaduna, June 6, 2026 – The Air Officer Commanding, Air Training Command of the Nigerian Air Force, AVM Esen Efanga, has commended officers, airmen, and airwomen for their discipline, endurance, and professionalism during the successful completion of the Second Quarter Route March Exercise 2026.

Efanga gave the commendation on Saturday in Kaduna at the conclusion of the quarterly training exercise, expressing appreciation to God for a safe and incident-free outing while praising personnel for their commitment and enthusiasm.

He said the turnout and level of dedication demonstrated by participants reflected the high standards of professionalism and operational preparedness expected within the Nigerian Air Force.

According to him, route marching remains a key military tradition designed to improve physical fitness, mental alertness, endurance, discipline, and teamwork among personnel.

He added that the exercise also serves to prepare service members for the physical and mental demands of their constitutional responsibilities.

Efanga noted that the Nigerian Air Force regularly conducts such drills to ensure personnel remain in optimal condition for effective operational performance.

He expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation and esprit de corps shown among personnel of Headquarters Air Training Command and other units co-located in Kaduna.

The AOC said the exercise had further reinforced the importance of unity, teamwork, and mutual support in achieving operational objectives.

While congratulating participants on the successful completion of the march, he encouraged personnel to adopt consistent physical fitness routines beyond scheduled training exercises.

He stressed that maintaining physical fitness is essential for operational readiness and effective mission execution.

Efanga also appreciated the organisers, medical personnel, safety officers, and all contributors whose efforts ensured the smooth and safe conduct of the exercise.

He urged personnel to remain disciplined, professional, and committed to the core values of the Nigerian Air Force as they return to their respective duties.

The Air Officer Commanding further charged them to uphold excellence in service while contributing to national security and stability.
