The Kaduna State Fire Service and Public Safety has reported 50 fire outbreaks and the rescue of properties valued at N1.1 billion between September and November 2025.
The incidents were recorded across Kaduna, Zaria, and Kafanchan zones.
Aboi said the three-month period saw two deaths, 19 injuries, and seven rescue operations, while property losses amounted to N2.7 billion, mainly in densely populated communities, residential areas, and business locations.
He noted that most fire outbreaks were caused by electrical faults, careless handling of fire, and improper storage of flammable materials. The agency responded promptly to mitigate casualties and damages.
To curb future incidents, Aboi said the service had intensified public enlightenment, strengthened rapid response units, and expanded community sensitisation, particularly during the harmattan season, when fire risks are higher.
