Gov. Peter Mbah Swears in 13 Permanent Secretaries, Urges Commitment to Delivery-Oriented Governance

Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah on Monday sworn in 13 newly appointed permanent secretaries, charging them to embrace his administration’s delivery-focused governance model. The appointees include Chigbogu Nnaji, Phoebe Edeh, Philip Arum, Jeremiah Egbonwonu, Ifeoma Igwe, among others.

Speaking at the Government House in Enugu, Mbah stated there would be no honeymoon period for the new officials, emphasizing that their appointments were merit-based and aimed at filling existing civil service vacancies to promote equality and fairness.

To whom much is given, much is expected,” Mbah reminded them, highlighting that permanent secretaries are the engine room of government and custodians of institutional memory. He encouraged them to contribute to ongoing reforms across all sectors.

Mr. Ikechukwu Ezenwukwa, Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, speaking on behalf of the appointees, expressed gratitude for the governor’s confidence and pledged unwavering commitment to the administration’s vision, promising to build on the gains in revenue generation and infrastructural development.
