Galatasaray Advance to Champions League Last 16 Despite 3-2 Defeat at Juventus

Galatasaray S.K. progressed to the UEFA Champions League last 16 after a 3-2 defeat away to Juventus F.C. on Wednesday, sealing a 7-5 aggregate victory.

Holding a 5-2 advantage from the first leg in Istanbul, Galatasaray were pushed to extra time as Juventus mounted a spirited comeback despite being reduced to 10 men.

Manuel Locatelli gave the hosts the lead from the penalty spot eight minutes before halftime. Juventus suffered a setback shortly after the restart when Lloyd Kelly was sent off, but Federico Gatti struck with 20 minutes remaining to keep hopes alive.

Galatasaray failed to make immediate use of their numerical advantage, and Weston McKennie’s late header forced the contest into an additional 30 minutes.

However, Victor Osimhen restored control for the Turkish side with a goal at the end of the first half of extra time, before Baris Alper Yilmaz sealed qualification with a late strike.

Galatasaray will face either Liverpool F.C. or Tottenham Hotspur F.C. in the round of 16, with the draw scheduled for Friday.
