Embattled Nasarawa PDP Chairman Adamu Ninga Resigns From Party, Position

The embattled Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, Adamu Ninga, has confirmed his resignation from both his position and the party.

Ninga disclosed this on Friday during an interview with journalists in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

His resignation comes weeks after the State Working Committee of the PDP suspended him over allegations of gross misconduct in a letter signed by the State Secretary, Eng. Kefas Laura, dated March 25.

The former chairman said he had already formally communicated his decision to the party leadership at his Agyaga Electoral Ward in Akwanga Local Government Area.

He attributed his exit to internal disagreements and what he described as pressure from certain individuals within the party to act against established rules for personal gain.

Ninga said he chose to step down because of what he called an “uncivil relationship” with some members, stressing that he preferred to leave honourably rather than be compelled to serve private interests.

He explained that he has not yet decided on his next political platform but promised to make his decision public in due course.

According to him, he remains committed to politics and will continue his political engagement after consulting widely.

Ninga also expressed appreciation to his supporters and pledged to align with the wishes of his followers regarding his next political move.
