The Akinjide Adeosun Foundation (AAF) has called for increased and sustained efforts to tackle hunger, improve healthcare, and expand access to quality education across Nigeria.
Founder and Chairman of the foundation, Mr Akinjide Adeosun, made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday in Lagos to mark the organisation’s 10th anniversary and unveil its 2026 plans.
Adeosun, a pharmacist, noted that meaningful national development depends on addressing critical challenges such as food insecurity, limited healthcare access, and gaps in education.
He explained that the foundation has, over the years, aligned its programmes with these priorities, focusing on promoting excellence, integrity, and empathy through impactful initiatives.
According to him, thousands of Nigerians have benefited from the foundation’s interventions, including its Food Bank, free medical outreach programmes, and educational support schemes.
He added that the organisation has also recognised individuals and institutions demonstrating strong leadership values across different levels of society.
Looking ahead, Adeosun announced that the foundation’s annual colloquium and awards ceremony would hold on April 25 in Lagos, with the theme: “Trust Surplus: An Imperative to Building a Wealthy Sovereign Nation.”
He said the event would feature discussions on key sectors such as security, technology, health, and the role of family and faith in nation-building.
To mark the milestone anniversary, distinguished individuals and corporate organisations will also be honoured for their contributions.
Adeosun noted that the foundation would continue to expand its social impact programmes, particularly those addressing hunger, healthcare, and education.
He said the Food Bank initiative, launched in 2025 to support low-income workers such as cleaners and security personnel, would be sustained.
He added that the health outreach programme for underserved communities would also continue, alongside the education fair designed to mentor and guide secondary school students.
The foundation also plans to introduce a new initiative focused on providing solar-powered energy solutions to households without electricity, enabling students to study effectively at home.
Adeosun reaffirmed that the organisation remains committed to developing future leaders and driving national progress through targeted interventions.
He urged corporate bodies and non-governmental organisations to partner with the foundation in expanding its reach and impact across the country.
