The Commissioner of Police in charge of the Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), Lagos, CP Rose Dung, has urged officers to begin the year with renewed commitment to professionalism, discipline, and respect for the rule of law.
The message was conveyed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the unit’s spokesperson, DSP Ovie Ewhubare, in Lagos.
According to the statement, the commissioner delivered the charge during the unit’s first briefing of the year, stressing that officers must always uphold the image and integrity of the Nigeria Police Force.
“The actions of every officer reflect directly on the reputation of the institution,” she said.
Dung also called on personnel to carry out their duties with honesty, fairness, and respect for fundamental human rights, warning against behaviour capable of bringing the Force into disrepute.
She emphasised punctuality, proper appearance, and operational diligence as essential components of effective modern policing.
The commissioner noted that discipline remains the foundation of policing, adding that unprofessional conduct would not be tolerated under her leadership.
She reaffirmed the unit’s commitment to continuous capacity development, accountability, and improved service delivery.
Dung encouraged officers to approach the year with renewed dedication to national service, diligence in duty, and the protection of lives and property.
She assured members of the public of the unit’s resolve to deliver effective, intelligence-driven policing while maintaining strong collaboration with stakeholders to build public trust.
The commissioner also appealed to citizens to support the police by providing timely and credible information, assuring that the unit would continue to operate with integrity and unwavering respect for the law.
