The police on Thursday arraigned two defendants before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over alleged contempt of court.
The defendants, Alimi Yusuf, 34, and Kemi Isah, 52, both residents of the Elebu Sonso area of Ibadan, were charged on a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, wilful damage, contempt of court and breach of peace.
They pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, PC Olapeju Durodola, told the court that the defendants, alongside others still at large, conspired to commit the offences on Dec. 15, 2025, at Asipa Ajobiare Baba Emi Village in Ido Local Government Area.
Durodola alleged that the defendants disobeyed a judgment of the Oyo State High Court in a land dispute case marked I/148/2012.
She said the defendants forcefully entered the disputed land after the judgment had already been executed.
According to the prosecutor, the defendants caused a breach of peace and damaged chains and padlocks used to secure the property, valued at N200,000.
The property was said to belong to the complainant, Mr Baale Jelili Ajobiare.
The offences were said to contravene Sections 133(9), 249(d), 451 and 517 of the Criminal Code Law of Oyo State, 2000.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Olabisi Ogunkanmi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N1 million each, with two sureties in like sum, one of whom must be a close relative.
She adjourned the case until March 17 for hearing.
