Three men, Quadri Sanusi, Abeeb Azeez and Taofeek Saheed, were on Wednesday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over the alleged theft of items valued at N7.5 million.
Sanusi, 26, Azeez, 26, and Saheed, 25, whose addresses were not provided, are facing charges of conspiracy, office breaking, stealing, malicious damage and receiving stolen property. They pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Samuel Owolabi, told the court that the defendants committed the offences in November at the Solarex IT World office in Ibadan. He said the trio allegedly broke into the office and stole laptops, generators, furniture and writing materials valued at N7.5 million.
Owolabi further said that the defendants damaged the office’s CCTV system, valued at N250,000, while attempting to gain access to the premises. He added that Saheed allegedly received cable wires worth N800,000 from Sanusi, knowing they were stolen.
According to the prosecutor, the offences contravened Sections 516, 413, 390(9), 451 and 427 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Gladys Oladele, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N1 million each, with two sureties in like sum. She ruled that the sureties must be blood relations of the defendants and adjourned the case until Jan. 27, 2026, for hearing.
