Council Vice Chairman Commended by Ikeja Residents for Christmas Relief

Residents of Alausa in Ikeja Local Government have praised Vice Chairman Mr. Abisola Omisore for his Yuletide food distribution initiative, which provided relief to hundreds of families in the area.

The distribution, which began on December 23, 2025, and concluded on January 11, included items such as bags of rice and cooking oil.

Several beneficiaries expressed gratitude, noting that the gesture demonstrated the council’s concern for the welfare of the community.

Mrs. Omolola Famiwaye, one of the recipients, described the initiative as remarkable.

“Only those sent by God can do this. We are talking about 5,000 bags of rice and many gallons of cooking oil distributed so far. We are grateful to our capable Vice Chairman,” she said.

She added, “God bless our Vice Chairman and the leaders in Ward B. They are truly working hard to positively impact residents’ lives.”

Another beneficiary, Mr. Taiwo Oladipupo, a septuagenarian, also thanked the council for the food items, saying they would sustain recipients for several weeks.

Miss Aishat Abiodun, a student, expressed her appreciation, noting that the food supplies would help her through school in the coming weeks.

During the distribution, Omisore highlighted that the initiative reflected the administration’s commitment to supporting residents.

“We understand that many households face significant economic pressure, and this intervention is a practical step to support families while showing that the local government is responsive and compassionate,” he said.

He added, “This exercise demonstrates our dedication to the welfare of Ikeja residents. Leadership is not just about position, but about serving the people. While this initiative may not solve all problems, it shows our determination to stand with our communities and ensure relief reaches those who need it most.”
