Celebration and Awards for Dignitaries by NBA Ife Chapter

The Ife Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on Sunday held a celebration to honour prominent Ife indigenes and recognise outstanding figures in the legal profession.

In his welcome address, Prof. Sola Olawoyin, SAN, who hosted the event, described the gathering as an opportunity for lawyers from Ife and other regions to network and collectively strengthen the profession while contributing to the progress of Osun State.

The Coordinator of Lawyers, Prof. Abiola Sanni, SAN, also serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Lagos, thanked God for the large turnout and expressed appreciation to the host for the warm reception.

Sanni encouraged more Ife-based lawyers to participate in future events, emphasizing that the gathering was meant not just for socialising, but for productive engagement, mentoring, and professional growth.

“The purpose of this forum is to network, honour and recognise achievements, mentor emerging lawyers, and learn from senior advocates,” he said.

The Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Olalere Olaobaju, explained that the annual programme celebrates the remarkable accomplishments of Ife lawyers.

Olaobaju added that the event provides a platform for indigene lawyers to reflect on professional matters and discuss issues affecting the legal community and the town.

He noted that some members were specially recognised for attaining professorships, PhDs, or leadership positions in faculties of law.

“This recognition inspires the next generation to strive for excellence and reach the highest levels in the legal profession,” he said.

Among those honoured were retired Justice Olukayode Jimi-Bada (PCA), Sola Ojutalayo (SAN), Omiwole Jimi-Bada (SAN), Olanrewaju Tesleem Akinsola (Onigegewura) as SAN and Bencher, Prof. Dorcas Adenaike, and Dr Titilayo Onifade, reflecting a wide range of achievements across the legal field.
