Bauchi PHC Provides Free Delivery Kits to Over 250 Pregnant Women Monthly

Ms. Hauwa Adamu, Officer in-charge of Kofar Ran Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in Bauchi, has disclosed that the facility provides free delivery kits to more than 250 pregnant women every month.

Adamu said the kits, provided under the IMPACT Project, aim to support safe childbirth. The kits include mama pads, nightgowns, bleach, umbilical cord clamps, hand gloves, and other essential items to ensure clean and safe deliveries for both mothers and newborns.

“We ensure that every woman who comes to deliver at the facility receives a free delivery pack,” she said.

Adamu added that since the centre merged with the State Specialist Hospital, monthly deliveries have risen to around 350, while the antenatal clinic sees 80 to 90 new registrations daily.

Two women, Mrs. Fatima Shehu and Khadija Bappah, confirmed receiving the free delivery items during their visit to the facility.
