Arsenal strengthened their push for the Premier League title with a narrow 1-0 victory over Burnley at the Emirates Stadium on Monday evening.
The decisive moment came just before halftime when Kai Havertz powered home a header from a corner delivered by Bukayo Saka.
Although Mikel Arteta’s side struggled to find rhythm for large stretches of the contest, they managed to protect their slim advantage and secure a crucial three points in their second-to-last league match of the season.
The result moved Arsenal to 82 points from 37 matches, opening a five-point gap over Manchester City, who still have a game in hand with 77 points from 36 fixtures.
Arsenal could clinch their first league title in over two decades if Manchester City fail to defeat AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday. However, if City claim victory, the title race will go down to the final day, when Arsenal travel to face Crystal Palace knowing a win would guarantee the championship.
