Anambra Election: CP Commends Residents and Stakeholders for Upholding Peace

Anambra Police Commissioner, Ikioye Orutugu, has praised residents, community leaders, and security partners for contributing to a peaceful governorship election in the state.

Orutugu, speaking through the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, acknowledged the combined efforts of the police, sister security agencies, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), traditional rulers, and youth groups in maintaining public order and promoting harmony during Saturday’s polls.

He commended officers for their professionalism and resilience, noting that their collaboration with community stakeholders ensured voters exercised their rights in a secure environment. The CP also urged residents to remain vigilant and continue supporting law enforcement in sustaining the peace achieved during the election period.

Prior to the election, Orutugu conducted a state-wide security advocacy tour, engaging local leaders, religious organizations, and market unions to emphasize community partnership and a commitment to a violence-free electoral process.
