Badagry, Lagos State, June 7, 2026 – Efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation within the All Progressives Congress (APC) received a boost on Sunday as party stalwart Samuel Ajose commenced the construction of a federation house in Badagry Division ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ajose, popularly known as “SMA Gold” and a former governorship aspirant, performed the foundation-laying ceremony for the proposed SMA Badagry Federation House at Ibereko, Badagry.
Speaking at the event, he said the project was conceived to provide a central gathering point where party members and leaders could meet regularly to discuss political strategies, development issues and matters affecting the APC in the division.
According to him, the facility is expected to be completed within two months and will serve as the operational hub for party activities across Badagry Division.
He explained that the initiative was aimed at fostering greater cohesion among members and ensuring a united approach to political engagement within the area.
Ajose expressed optimism about the party’s electoral prospects in Lagos State, saying the APC could secure as many as 3.5 million votes in the next general election.
He noted that achieving such a figure would be realistic given the state’s voter population and the expected support for President Bola Tinubu, Deputy Governor Kadri Hamzat and other APC candidates in 2027.
Lagos APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, who was represented by the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Tolani Sule, described Ajose as a dedicated party leader whose contributions had positively impacted the growth of the APC in Badagry.
He commended Ajose for providing support through infrastructure development, leadership and other initiatives that have strengthened the party’s structure in the division.
Ojelabi added that the proposed building would provide a permanent venue for meetings, consultations and the resolution of internal disagreements among party stakeholders.
He expressed confidence that the project would improve coordination within the party and further enhance its visibility and effectiveness at the grassroots level.
The Chief Imam of Badagry Division, Abdulakeem Akewusola, alongside other Islamic clerics, offered prayers for the success of the project and the APC’s future electoral ambitions.
The ceremony attracted traditional rulers, political leaders, community stakeholders and residents from different parts of Badagry, who gathered to witness the commencement of the project.
