AFCON 2025: Morocco’s Díaz finishes tournament as leading scorer

Morocco’s attacking talisman, Brahim Díaz, emerged as the leading goalscorer at the CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, securing the Puma Golden Boot award.

Roared on by home supporters, the Atlas Lions forward dominated the scoring charts, reinforcing his importance after previously finishing as the top scorer during the tournament’s qualification campaign.

Díaz finished the competition with five goals, a return no other player could match, even though Morocco fell short in the final.

His goals came across every stage of the tournament, beginning with an opener against Comoros, followed by strikes against Mali and a brace against Zambia in the group phase.

The Real Madrid star maintained his fine form in the knockout rounds, finding the net against Tanzania in the Round of 16 and later scoring against Cameroon in the quarter-finals.

With goals in five separate matches, Díaz etched his name into AFCON history and set a new benchmark for Moroccan players in terms of scoring consistency at the continental showpiece.
