Save the Children Donates Teaching Materials to Primary Schools in Adamawa

Save the Children International (SCI), a non-governmental organisation, has donated instructional materials to the Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB) for distribution to basic primary schools in four local government areas of the state.

Speaking during the presentation, SCI’s Adamawa State Team Lead, Mr. Abdulrasheed Muhammad, commended ADSUBEB for its commitment to improving basic education. He was represented at the event by the organisation’s Education Officer, Mr. Hela Dauda.

Dauda explained that the materials were provided with support from the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) as part of SCI’s exit strategy after a two-year education project, aimed at ensuring sustainability and complementing government efforts to enhance teaching and learning.

He said the materials would be distributed to selected schools in Michika, Madagali, Mubi North and Mubi South local government areas.

According to him, the items include 1,119 packets of whiteboard markers, 51 whiteboards, 280 dusters, 103 packs of pens, 103 teachers’ rulers, 103 packs of teachers’ notebooks and 466 school registers.

In his remarks, the Chairman of ADSUBEB, Dr. Murtala Babayi, expressed appreciation to SCI for its contribution to the development of basic education in the state and reaffirmed the board’s readiness to sustain the partnership.

Babayi assured that the instructional materials would be judiciously distributed to the targeted schools in line with the agreed distribution plan across the four local government areas.
