The 32nd Commissioner of Police in charge of the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) in Lagos, CP Rose Dung, has officially retired from the Nigeria Police Force after reaching the statutory retirement age of 60.
Her retirement ceremony, held on Saturday, was attended by senior police officers, retired personnel, industry leaders, stakeholders, and other distinguished guests.
In her remarks, Dung expressed gratitude to God for His protection, grace, and good health throughout her policing career. She described the occasion as a moment of reflection and thanksgiving, celebrating a journey rooted in professionalism and integrity.
The outgoing commissioner commended the Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, for his leadership, dedication to personnel development, and efforts to promote professionalism and gender inclusivity within the force.
CP Dung also paid tribute to the management team, officers, and men and women of the Lagos SFU, calling her time at the unit one of the most rewarding periods of her career. She lauded their discipline, dedication, and professionalism, highlighting how these qualities contributed to the unit’s operational successes and strengthened public confidence.
She further acknowledged the invaluable support of SFU stakeholders and institutional partners, whose collaboration enhanced the unit’s investigative capacity and overall effectiveness.
Dung thanked friends, colleagues, and well-wishers for their support, which made the ceremony memorable. She also expressed confidence that the SFU personnel would continue to serve with professionalism and commitment in the discharge of their duties.
Among those present were the Commissioner of Police, Anti-Fraud Section, FCID Annex Lagos, Mr Simeon Akpanudom, as well as retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mr Sylvester Alabi, and other senior retired officers.

The ceremony closed with heartfelt tributes and best wishes for CP Dung as she transitions into retirement after a distinguished and impactful policing career.
