The Katsina State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has elevated 263 officers to higher ranks in a ceremony held on Friday.
The state Comptroller of NCoS, Mr. Umar Baba, announced the promotions during the decoration of 41 officers who were formally recognized at the event.
He explained that the promotions span several ranks, including Assistant Controller of Corrections (ACC) and Chief Superintendent of Corrections (CSC).
Other ranks elevated include Superintendent of Corrections (SC), Deputy Superintendent of Corrections (DSC), and Assistant Superintendent of Corrections I (ASC I).
Baba commended the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for approving the promotion of 16,586 personnel nationwide, and also praised the NCoS Controller-General, Sylvester Ndidi-Nwakuche, for his leadership.
He urged the promoted officers to demonstrate professionalism, discipline, and commitment as they assume their new responsibilities.
Some officers pledged to redouble their efforts and dedication to advancing the service.
Among those promoted was the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Najib Idris-Kunduru, who received the rank of DSC.
The ceremony drew participation from sister security agencies, government officials, custodial centre heads, retired officers, and families of the promoted personnel, celebrating the achievements and milestones of the officers.
