Zamfara Govt Boosts Police Patrols with Motorcycles for Hard-to-Reach Areas

The Zamfara State Government says it has donated 10 new motorcycles to the Gusau Central Police Station to strengthen patrol operations, particularly in difficult-to-access parts of the Gusau metropolis.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Malam Abubakar Nakwada, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Gusau by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Malam Sulaiman Tudu.

Nakwada said the donation underscored the commitment of the administration of Gov. Dauda Lawal to safeguarding lives and property across the state.

According to him, the motorcycles were provided to enhance police mobility during routine patrols, especially in areas where conventional patrol vehicles face challenges.

“The gesture is intended to support effective policing, particularly in troubled locations that are not easily accessible during normal operations,” he said.

Represented at the presentation by the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs, Dr Abubakar Mohammad, the SSG assured that the state government would also take responsibility for the routine fueling of the motorcycles to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.

He added that the donation formed part of the state’s broader strategy to combat criminal activities and strengthen security operations statewide.

Nakwada further stated that the Lawal administration would continue to provide necessary support to all security agencies in Zamfara to enhance their operational capacity.

“With adequate support, our security personnel are expected to deliver tangible results in maintaining peace and security,” he said.

The SSG also revealed that the state government was currently rehabilitating and remodelling the Gusau Central Police Station as well as the State Police Command Headquarters to improve working conditions for officers.
