The University of Calabar (UNICAL) has approved the promotion of 24 academic staff members to the professorial level, reaffirming its dedication to academic growth and professional advancement.
The announcement was made by the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Florence Obi, following the 250th Senate meeting held on Wednesday. The development was disclosed to the press in Calabar on Thursday.
According to Prof. Obi, the promotions include 12 academics elevated to full Professors and another 12 promoted to Associate Professor status.
She emphasized that the promotions reflect UNICAL’s ongoing commitment to fostering academic excellence and investing in staff development.
Prof. Obi, who also presides over the University Senate, praised the efforts of faculty deans, department heads, and Senate members for their continuous support and contributions to the university’s progress and stability.
