UCL: Paris Saint-Germain outgun Bayern Munich 5–4 in nine-goal classic

Paris Saint-Germain secured a dramatic 5–4 win over Bayern Munich in a high-scoring UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg on Tuesday night.

The defending champions were pushed to the limit in an entertaining clash at the Parc des Princes, where both sides showcased their attacking strength in a nine-goal spectacle.

PSG recovered from an early setback after Harry Kane converted a 17th-minute penalty, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Joao Neves turning the game around to give the hosts a 2–1 lead.

Bayern responded before the break as Michael Olise produced a fine individual effort to level the score, but Ousmane Dembele restored PSG’s advantage from the penalty spot just before halftime.

The French side appeared to take full control early in the second half, scoring twice in quick succession through Kvaratskhelia and Dembele to open up a 5–2 lead by the 58th minute.

However, Bayern mounted a late fightback, with Dayot Upamecano and Luiz Diaz finding the net to narrow the deficit and keep their hopes alive ahead of the second leg in Munich.

The victor of the tie will go on to meet either Arsenal or Atletico Madrid, who contest the other semi-final, with a place in the final on the line.
