Two Men Arraigned in Ikorodu Over Alleged Theft of ₦2.4m Motorcycles

Two men were on Wednesday arraigned before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over the alleged theft of two Bajaj motorcycles valued at ₦2.4 million.

The defendants, Rasaki Adeniran, 53, and Olaoluwa Akingboju, 41, whose residential addresses were not disclosed, are facing a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.

Both men pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Inspector Adegeshin Famuyiwa, told the court that the alleged offences were committed on Dec. 22, 2025, at about 2:00 a.m. at Eleshin/Elepe Estate along Ijede Road in Ikorodu.

According to the prosecution, the defendants conspired with others currently at large to carry out the crime. It was alleged that they abandoned their duty posts, opened the gate for two motorcyclists carrying passengers, and unlawfully took possession of the motorcycles.

Famuyiwa told the court that the motorcycles included a Bajaj valued at ₦1.16 million and another Bajaj motorcycle with registration number FKJ 583QN valued at ₦1.2 million.

The offences are said to contravene Sections 287, 410, and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The presiding magistrate, Mr A.O. Ogbe, granted the defendants bail in the sum of ₦500,000 each, with two sureties in like sum.

He adjourned the case until Jan. 22 for mention.
