Trader Stabbed to Death During Robbery Attack in Suleja

Residents of Suleja, Niger State, have been thrown into mourning following the killing of a local trader, Alhaji Mustapha Musa, during a suspected robbery attack at his residence located behind Niger Motel.

According to information obtained from police sources, the incident was reported at the Suleja Area Command after the attackers allegedly invaded the victim’s home in the early hours of Sunday.

The assailants were said to have gained access to the house around 3:00 a.m., fatally stabbing Musa before making away with his motorcycle and mobile phones.

Security personnel who responded to the incident visited the scene and transported the deceased’s body to the General Hospital in Suleja.

Musa was widely known as a trader at Babangida Modern Market in Suleja.

Family members disclosed that the deceased is survived by three wives and 11 children.

One of his wives, Amina Mohammed, recounted the ordeal, saying she heard her husband crying out for help during the attack until his voice suddenly went silent.

The wife in whose room the incident reportedly took place was said to have suffered severe trauma and was later admitted to a hospital for treatment.

Jamila Usman, a relative of one of the wives, said three men entered the compound during the attack, though she could not ascertain whether additional accomplices remained outside.

She explained that Musa reportedly attempted to offer the attackers money, but they ignored the offer and proceeded to assault him.

According to her, the attackers remained at the scene until they were certain he was dead before fleeing with two of his phones, another phone belonging to one of the wives, his ATM card and his motorcycle.

Police authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and assured that efforts are underway to identify, track and arrest those responsible for the killing.
