Social media has been abuzz with congratulatory messages after Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa announced the arrival of her baby girl.
The TV and radio host shared the joyful news on Thursday through a heartfelt Instagram post on her official handle, @tokemakinwa, where she reflected on her long-awaited journey into motherhood.
Makinwa described the birth of her daughter as nothing short of a miracle—proof, she said, of God’s faithfulness and power, which she has now personally encountered.
Overflowing with gratitude, she revealed her daughter’s name: Yakira Eliana, which means “God has answered my prayers.”
In her post, she expressed:
“Becoming a mother is the happiest moment of my life. My daughter is the love I never imagined, the piece of my heart now living outside of me. Truly, I have seen God’s goodness firsthand—it all ended in praise, my miracle has finally arrived. Yakira Eliana, Olakitan, Iyanuoluwa, Ikeoluwa, Adunola—you are my purpose, my evidence, and my joy. Thank you for choosing me.”
Referring to herself as Mama Yaya, the media star gave thanks to God for answering her prayers down to the tiniest details—from her daughter’s little fingers to her tiny toes.
Toke had earlier revealed her pregnancy on August 13, describing it as her greatest project yet and her highest calling.
At the time of reporting, her announcement had already drawn over 200,000 messages of love and support, with fans, well-wishers, and celebrities—including Funke Akindele, Ini Edo, and Kunle Remi—celebrating the joyous milestone with her.
