The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for establishing a new benchmark for inclusive governance and fostering national unity.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Lagos, the party’s spokesman, Mr. Seye Oladejo, stated that the President’s efforts merit increased support from all Nigerians.
“President Bola Tinubu is building a Nigeria where every citizen, regardless of tribe, tongue, or faith, feels seen, heard, and valued,” Oladejo said. “At a time when numerous democracies are grappling with deep divisions, the Tinubu administration demonstrates that unity can be constructed—not through mere slogans—but via shared opportunity, leadership based on merit, and inclusive national planning.”
Oladejo called on the citizenry to rally behind the administration as it “continues to lead with purpose, fairness, and vision.”
The spokesman expressed the party’s pride in its association with President Tinubu, applauding his bold and deliberate commitment to inclusive governance since his inauguration on May 29, 2023. He also voiced the party’s dismay at what he characterized as attempts by a “disillusioned opposition” to distort the narrative of the administration’s unprecedented inclusivity across various sectors.
According to Oladejo, the President has demonstrated this inclusivity through appointments, gender balance, youth engagement, and the equitable distribution of infrastructure projects nationwide.
“Two years into his administration, it is evident that President Tinubu has gone beyond the limitations of ethnic, religious, regional, gender, and partisan lines to offer Nigeria a leadership style rooted in fairness, representation, and meritocracy,” he stated.
Focusing on the federal cabinet, the APC chieftain noted that the President had made it clear from the beginning that his government would be a genuine reflection of the Nigerian federation. He described the cabinet as one of the most diverse and competent in the nation’s democratic history, ensuring all six geopolitical zones are not only represented in name but through meaningful and impactful participation.
Oladejo highlighted that women now occupy central roles in shaping national policy, while individuals from minority and historically marginalized communities have been appointed to positions that affirm the dignity and value of every Nigerian.
He also emphasized the President’s transcendence of partisanship, noting that one of the most commendable aspects of his leadership is the willingness to collaborate across political lines.
“In appointing competent Nigerians from opposition parties, civil society, and the private sector, the President has shown that governance is not about partisanship but progress,” Oladejo said. “This inclusive strategy has fostered a national climate of collaboration, idea-driven policymaking, and renewed public trust.”
The spokesman also pointed to the administration’s focus on empowering the younger generation, with several individuals under 40 appointed to strategic roles in sectors like technology, entertainment, and the digital economy.
On religious balance, Oladejo stated that President Tinubu had allayed early concerns through deliberate and balanced governance, appointing both Christians and Muslims to sensitive positions and allocating federal resources equitably across all states.
He concluded by stating that inclusivity is a cornerstone of the administration’s infrastructural development strategy, citing projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Port Harcourt-Maiduguri Rail Line as evidence of a vision for shared prosperity for all Nigerians.
