Three Security Personnel Killed in Attack at NIPSS — Police

In Jos, Plateau State, the Police Command has confirmed that three security operatives were killed by armed men at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, in the outskirts of the state capital.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Alfred Alabo, stated in a release on Tuesday that the attack occurred in the early hours of the same day while the personnel were on duty at the institute.

He noted that the incident was a tragic development, adding that the command had received reports confirming the death of three security operatives during the assault.

According to him, additional security personnel have been deployed to the area, while patrols have been intensified to prevent further breach of peace.

He assured that the situation had been brought under control and that normal activities had resumed within the institute.

Alabo also disclosed that an investigation had commenced to identify those responsible for the attack, urging residents to remain calm and law-abiding as security agencies work on the matter.

Meanwhile, unverified reports suggested that the victims included two soldiers and a police officer.
