Ibadan, June 3, 2026 — Armed men on Wednesday morning abducted Mrs. Olaide Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power and Oyo State governorship aspirant, Chief Bayo Adelabu, alongside her twin sons.
The victims, Peter and Paul, aged 12, were reportedly being taken to school when they were seized during the incident.
Mrs. John-Paul, the youngest of five children of Mrs. Olufunmilayo Aduke Adegoke Adelabu, was said to have been intercepted by the attackers at the Bolumole axis of Ring Road in Ibadan.
According to eyewitness accounts, the incident happened around 7:30 a.m. while she was on her way to drop the children at school when the armed men forced them into their vehicle.
Media aide to Chief Adelabu, Femi Awogboro, confirmed the development in a statement issued in Ibadan, noting that the matter had been reported to security agencies.
He said the attack had left the family in shock, especially given the public profile of Chief Adelabu, a former minister and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship hopeful in the state.

He also advised caution in the dissemination of details on social media.
Meanwhile, the Oyo State Police Command confirmed that an investigation had begun into the incident.
Police spokesperson DSP Olayinka Alayande said tactical teams had been deployed to the scene after the Divisional Police Officer of the Challenge Division was directed to commence immediate investigation.
