RCCG Prosperity Assembly Distributes Free Food, Household Items in Second “Jesus Market” Outreach

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Prosperity Assembly, Okeafa, Isolo, Lagos, on Sunday held its second community outreach, distributing free food items and household essentials to residents.

Tagged “Jesus Market”, the initiative aims to express the love of Christ through giving. Resident Pastor Bisi Folahan said this edition focused on free distribution, unlike the first edition where items were sold at subsidized prices.

“Each family received packages containing rice, beans, and garri. Jesus came as a gift to the world, and as His followers, we should also give freely,” Folahan said.

He added that corporate organizations, foundations, and individual church members supported the event, with resources for the outreach running into millions of naira. Folahan also disclosed plans to expand future editions to include medical outreach, scholarships, and other social interventions, noting that the initiative would be sustained despite economic challenges.

Pastor Mercy Oloworoporoku, the church’s Welfare Minister, emphasized that the program was open to all community members, not just church members. Assistant Pastor Seun Folahan highlighted the spiritual importance of giving, while Head of Welfare, Mrs Faith Okoduwa-Ilembiluan, urged the church to organize more editions.

A total of 120 Christmas food boxes were distributed, with additional items provided by an NGO for members of the public. Beneficiaries, including Ms Victoria Ernest, described the outreach as timely and impactful.

Organizers assured that future editions would continue to expand, reaching more people within and beyond the community.
