President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to improve national security, strengthen economic recovery and ensure that ongoing reforms deliver meaningful benefits to Nigerians across the country.
The president made the remarks on Friday during a nationwide broadcast marking the third anniversary of his administration.
Tinubu described security as a critical pillar for national development and prosperity, stressing that peace and stability remain essential for economic growth.
He said security forces had stepped up operations against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, oil theft and other criminal activities in different parts of the country.
According to the president, improved security efforts were beginning to yield positive results, with several communities and major roads gradually becoming safer for residents and businesses.
Tinubu explained that his administration was investing in intelligence gathering, surveillance systems, logistics, technology and stronger collaboration among security agencies to enhance the country’s security architecture.
He maintained that the government remained determined to restore peace and ensure that Nigerians could live, work and travel without fear.
Speaking on infrastructure and the economy, the president said major projects in transportation, energy and road construction were evidence of the administration’s commitment to national development.
He noted that although economic challenges still existed, the government had made significant progress in laying the groundwork for long-term stability and growth.
Tinubu added that efforts were ongoing to make the impact of economic reforms more visible to ordinary citizens through reduced food prices, lower transportation costs and increased employment opportunities.
The president also highlighted plans to expand the adoption of compressed natural gas (CNG) and electric vehicles as part of measures to cut transportation expenses for Nigerians.
He urged citizens to remain united and committed to national progress, emphasising the need for collective sacrifice, discipline and optimism.
Tinubu further stated that every Nigerian, regardless of ethnicity, religion or region, should feel included in the nation’s development and democratic process.
He also assured foreign investors and the international community that Nigeria remained committed to democratic governance, economic reforms and strategic partnerships that support national growth.
The president expressed optimism about the country’s future, saying Nigeria was steadily regaining global confidence and positioning itself for sustainable progress and renewed international relevance.
