The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered a locally made firearm alongside a stolen motorcycle.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Ramhan Nansel, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday in Lafia.
According to him, operatives attached to the Nasarawa Police Division apprehended the suspects in Nasarawa Local Government Area over alleged involvement in criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.
Nansel explained that investigations showed the suspects allegedly carried out the attack on Dec. 20, 2025, at about 10:00 a.m., at Foundation Area, behind the Federal Polytechnic Staff School in Nasarawa.
He said the suspects, who were reportedly armed with a locally fabricated gun, attacked a resident and forcefully took away a Bajaj motorcycle.
The spokesperson noted that the suspects were tracked and arrested following prompt intelligence provided to the police.
“During the operation, officers recovered one locally made firearm and the stolen Bajaj motorcycle as exhibits,” he said.
On behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Shetima Jauro-Mohammed, Nansel urged personnel of the command to remain alert and proactive in crime prevention.
He also reassured residents of the state of the police’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure yuletide season.
