A petty trader, Helen Okeke, has taken her friend, Patience Udeme, to an Upper Customary Court on Daura Road, Kaduna, for allegedly threatening to kill her.
Okeke, represented by her counsel, A.M. Aduma, told the court that Udeme had defamed, intimidated, and verbally abused her. She claimed the defendant accused her of using witchcraft, causing her pain and constant fear.
Witnesses presented by the complainant corroborated that the dispute involved heated exchanges that nearly escalated into physical confrontation.
The defendant’s counsel, H.T. Oyebanji, cross-examined the witnesses before the court adjourned.
Judge Patience Musa adjourned the case until February 3 for ruling and the defence hearing.
